Flight standards has conducted an on-site evaluation of the proposed h eliport site and the heliport pl an s regarding the safety of helicopt er operations. the propon ent must meet all state and local requirem ents; the landing area must be limited to private u se only; and all operations must be condu cted visually. because this is a privat e u sc heliport , all operators proceed at their own risk , and to enhan ce the safety of operations, we recommend: 1. a ll h elicopter approach i departur e route operations should be conduct ed on a 090 degree egress h eading i 270 degree ingress heading using the center of the heliport as the reference point, or on a 270 degree egress heading i 090 degree ingress heading u sing the center of the heliport as the reference point. 2. a wind indicator is maintained adjacent to the h eliport, away from the approach and departure routes, and outside the safety area. 3. no night helicopter operations are conducted unless the heliport and wind indicator are lit in accordance with ac l5015390-2c , paragraph s 415 and 41 1c. 4. th e takeoff/landing area is appropriately marked in accordance with ac 15015390-2c, paragraph 414 5. the heliport proponent will reexamine obstacles in the vicinity of the approach/departure paths on an annual basis in accorda nce with ac l5015390-2c , paragraph 409e. any new obstacles noted wi ll be forwarded to the airport district office, flight standa rd s district office or regional flight standards division.
