Flight standards has reviewed the proposed heliport site and documentation to analyze the safety of helicopter operations. the proponent must meet all state and local requirements, the landing area must be limited to private use only, and all operations must be conducted visually. because this is a private use heliport,all operators proceed at their own risk. to enhance the safety of operations we recommend: i. all helicopterapproach / departure route operations should be conducted on a 090 degree egress course/ 270 degree ingress course using the center of the he liport as the reference point. if the tree 270 ft sse is removed or lowered 15 ft, approach /departure route operations may also be conducted on a 185 degree egress course/ 005 degree ingress course, and if the tree 210 ft ssw of the proposed heliport center are removed or lowered l 0 ft, approach/departure route operatio n may also be conducted on a 190 degree egress course/0 io degree ingress course. 2. a wind indicator is installed and maintained adjacent to the heliport , away from the approach and departure routes, and outside the safety area as planned. 3. no night helicopter operations are conducted unless the he liport and wind indicator are lit in accordance with ac i 50/5390-2c,paragraphs 415 and 411c. 4. due to the c lose proximity of the pipestone airport (pqn), operators should monitor and provide traffic advisories on the pqn common traffic advisoryfrequency 122.80. 5. the takeoff/landing area is...
