The faa's flight standards division has conducted an on-site inspection of the proposed desutter farm private use heliport in manito. il. our position is that helicopter operations can be conducted safely from this heliport provided the following conditions are met: 1. all helicopter approach/departure route operations are conducted on a 280 degree clockwise to 320 degree egress heading / 100 degree clockwise to 140 degree ingress heading using the center of the heliport as the reference point. operations may also be conducted on a 020 degree clockwise to 110 degree egress heading / 200 degree clockwise to 290 degree ingress heading using the center of the heliport as the reference point. 2. all operations are conducted in vfr weather conditions. 3. the landing area is limited to private use. approach/departure paths on an annual basis in accordance with ac 150/5390-2c, paragraph 210e. any new obstacles noted will be forwarded to the airport district office, flight standards district office or regional flight standards division. additionally, flight standards recommends that: 1. the tlof and/or fato be marked with flush, in-ground markers in accordance with ac 150/5290-2c, paragraph 215b. 2. unauthorized persons are restrained from access to the takeoff/landing area during helicopter flight operations. 3. fire protection is provided in accordance with the nfpa 418, local fire code and ac 150/5390-2c. 4. the proponent refers to ac 150/5390-2c in establishing an...
