Calvert Peak is an abandoned USFS airport in Oregon. It is unique in that it is paved and located on the top of a mountain ridge. It was closed after a series of fatal accidents by pilots landing too long and crashing off the cliff at the end of the runway.
From recent photos the runway is becoming fairly overgrown with trees rendering it likely ususable. However, with some clearing effort it could likely be re-opened should the USFS allow access.
